Santa Ana, CA

I became a NetDay AmeriCorps Bridge Member because I am interested in service, learning new things, and working with kids.

Mission
As a NetDay AmeriCorps Bridge Member, Jimmy Green spent five days a week at Monte Vista Elementary School in Santa Ana, California, supporting teachers and students in the effective use of technology in education. Launched in November 2002, the NetDay AmeriCorps Bridge Program in Santa Ana connected community members looking for workplace experience with schools in need of support.

Community Profile
With 25 members in three elementary schools, the program reduced the adult to student ratio in classrooms to improve access to technology, supported after school programs, and helped teachers link technology to instruction.
